  3. Scenario Description Topic Immigration Title Internationalimmigrationissues Short description • Immigration was a problem in the world since forever, but in the last years of EU open borders it has become a very frequent topic. In Europe people are especially afraid of islamic invasion of immigrants, and in U.S.A they are afraid of invasion from Latin America, especially from Mexico. What should politicians do to prevent this or which rules should they make to prevent invasion, is a topic about which could be debated a lot.

  7. Comments on Video This video is talking about comparing immigration problems in U.S.A and Europe. It was taken in a show, where the hostess Alyona was speaking to Walter Rodgers, who was former CNN International Senior Correspondent discuss. USA has far greater methods of freedom of expressions than it ever will be in Europe. Europeans feel threatened by the so called 3rd Islamic invasion of Europe. Many Europeans think that by coming Muslims into their country they will loose their freedom of the press, freedom of speech and democracy itself. I think that like Europeans have fear of Islamic invasion, people from U.S.A. have fear from invasion from Mexico and the whole Latin America. It is also revealed that behind immigration problems are several different prejudices.

  10. Short article summary Gabriel Partos is the BBC's Central and South-East Europe analyst, who in this article examined what lies behind the European trends are reported by the United Nations refugee agency, the UNHCR. The United States, Germany and Britain are the world's largest traditional destinations for asylum seekers. Those three countries registered huge drops in the number of people applying for asylum in recent years. In 2004 was the leading receiving country France. The scale of asylum problem across western Europe is now down to a level last seen in the mid- to late 1980s.Serbia and Montenegro remain the second largest source of asylum seekers after the Russian Federation. The danger is danger is that if there is another major conflict that would prompt a large wave of asylum seekers, the EU's new members with their limited resource could easily be overwhelmed. FrisoAbbingsays however that the EU is not turning away from the problem. He also said that they are aware of the increase in the number of asylum seekers in a number of EU member states.Mr. Abbling talked also about the "Hague programme" which was adopted in November 2004 by European leaders, who said that there should be assistance for member states which merely due to their geographical location faced and influx of asylum seekers or immigrants. The EU leaders have also pledged to develop a common asylum system by the end of the decade, but that may be harder t achieve than handing out money.

  13. Useful Information Immigration to Europe has grown dramatically since the end of World War II.Most people from Africa immigrate to France. Citizen from the European Union make up a growing proportion of immigrants in Spain.Since the World War II, more refugees have found homes in the U.S.A than any other nation and more than two million refugees have arrived in the U.S. since 1980.I think that immigration is not a bad thing because people immigrate to different countriesbecause they want to live better, have a better job and a better life than in their own country. They do this because many countries (like in Africa) don't have a good standard to live so theywant to change their lives to better.

  16. MyPersonal View Immigration is a big problem in the world since forever. Immigration was always present, but it wasn’t such a big deal like now and people didn’t talk so much about the immigrants like we do it now. I don’t agree with the topic on the picture "stop the invasion”, because as I said in the previous activity, people immigrate because they are searching for better life for them and their family. Legal immigrations are a good thing. But the biggest problem is with the illegal immigrants because they don’t pay taxes and we have to pay to support them and this is wrong. But I think that solution for the illegal immigrants would be if the countries would have some ruleslike for example: that the immigrants have 6 months time to find a job and apartment or house, and thenthey wouldn't live with the money of the country. And if they didn't have a job in 6 months then they would have to leave the country and go back in the country where they lived before and could never immigrate again.
