  5. Voice: the style of the writer • Writing is appropriate for the assignment • Writing connects with the audience • The purpose of the writing is understood by the reader • A personal stamp

  6. Word Choice: vocabulary decisions • Language enhances meaning • Language clarifies understanding • Creative choices make it interesting • Word precision is obvious (it was revised until the writer decided it sounded the best that it could)

  7. Sentence Fluency:writing has an easy flow • Sentence construction helps meaning • Sentences vary in length and structure • You can read it aloud easily
