  2. Review from last week….. • Alliteration….compare what you wrote to the student samples : ) • When you get hired by a district, you will have many, many responsibilities. These are outlined in the Employee Handbook/Guide. It is your responsibility to know what you are supposed to do…ask lots of questions. • You will work with many types of people in many different settings. You will participate in several professional learning communities. • What you teach depends on the Common Core or State Standards for your subject and grade level.

  4. Teaching Style • Be yourself…on a little bit of Red Bull. • Enthusiasm is critical • Love your subject…be a geek about it. Know a lot!!! Keep learning about it on weekends and vacations. • Have a passion for teaching…live for it! Be willing to spend your own money for really good stuff. • Show kids you care….

  5. Classroom Rules: • Less is best • Stick with school-wide rules first • No running, swearing, dress code – see student manual • Carry planner at all times…sign out to use restroom • PBIS Motto: Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe • Discussion: Cunningham, Chapter 4 • Quick 5 minute break…..be sure you have read the case studies in Emmer/Evertson Chapter 2 by the time we re-convene.
