  3. Lie (Present) • Lie is a verb • Lie is used without object • Lie means to be in a horizontal, recumbent, or prostrate position, as on a bed or the ground; recline. • Isn’t that cool? • I think it is. Ex. “I lie here every day.”

  5. Lay (Past) • Lay is a verb • Lay is used with object • Lay means to put or place in a horizontal position or position of rest; set down: to lay a book on a desk • Ex. Every afternoon we lay down and rest for an hour.

  6. How to use each word • The slide you are about to see is confidential and is not to be shown to anyone but you… Just kidding.
