The Rentista Applicant must demonstrate that they will receive income in the amount of US$2,500 per month and a proof of a deposit with a recognized legal bank with a minimum amount of US$60,000. Bank will issue confirming letter for immigration purposes.

  2. Requires valid passport. • Birth certificate (long form). • Marriage certificate. • Letter of Good Conduct from local police. • Proof of a deposit with a bank qualifying for Rentista Status. • Registration with the Canadian Embassy in Costa Rica upon arrival. • - Documents 2 to 4 must have been issued within 6 months from time of application. • Rentista Status, • Canadian Citizen

Passport: • Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration. • The Birth Certificate, • The Marriage Certificate, • The Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police, • Proof of a Pension. • If pension is from private source, i.e. company pension, signature is to be notarized. • Upon receipt, these documents are to be sent to Foreign Affairs Canada. Requirements for a Spouse of an Canadian Citizen Applicant for Rentista Status • Passport: • Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration. • The Birth Certificate, • The Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police. • The Letter of Good Conduct signature must be notarized. • Upon receipt these documents are to be sent to Foreign Affairs Canada. Requirements for a Child of a Canadian Citizen Applicant for Rentista Status • Passport: • Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration. • The Birth Certificate, • The Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police if over 18 Years of Age. • The Letter of Good Conduct signature must be notarized. • Upon receipt, these documents are to be sent to Foreign Affairs Canada.
