  8. Funding • Number of 1 hour students attending 180 days x .167 x % attendance x average basic allotment x 1.35 • 2 hour student = .33 • 3 hour student = .5 • 60 % CTE and 40% School District • http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/school.finance/funding/softweb7.html

  9. Funding • All new CTE courses will receive weighted funding for next year for now. • Jr. High CTE Courses do not receive weighted funding only 1.0 funding. • $50 for students coded a 2 or 3 on PEIMS

  10. Teacher Certification • Ag teachers will be able to teach the two science courses and one math course with their current certifications during the 2010 – 11 school year. Next year, TEA will develop an in-service for the courses and at that time those ag teachers will have one year to do the training. So for the next two years, you can teach the math and science courses with no additional training or in-service. On floral design, you can teach it for Fine Arts credit with no additional training or in-service. For professional communications, you will have to have either 6 hours of speech on your college transcript or be speech certified.

  11. NCLB House Rules • Minimum of 24 points • Teaching experience • College coursework and/or professional development • Your school district makes the decision
