  2. DFA/Comptroller Relations • Context • The Director for Administration/Comptroller relationship is of critical importance to the day-to-day operations of the Military Treatment Facility. These two individuals, long with their respective staffs, need to work in harmony in order to accomplish mission objectives. As part of Navy Medicine’s audit readiness effort, this collaboration on business process improvements is vital to ensure that assessable units are ready for audit assertion. • Purpose • To improve collaboration between the DFA and Comptroller and develop a common understanding in order to achieve mission objectives. • Outcome • Work as a team for the good of the organization and create opportunities for mentoring and feedback. NMC Portsmouth • DFA/DRM relationship cultivated over many years ; as CEB members, discuss issues daily • Cooperation among both staffs on all actions • DFA /DRM collaborated deployment and use of SOPs; double-teaming Audit Readiness • Comptroller staff meet with DFA representatives regularly, especially for EOY closeout FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY

NH Jacksonville • Monthly Resource Update (CO/XO/DFA/DRM) • DFA owns 2/3 of the expenses (Staff and Stuff) • EPRC, TFM, FMC, Contracts • Strong relationship for 1-2 Punch • Contract Closeout Team • MSC Mentorship • New HCA “Fly-By” Rotation • DRM Should be a Knowledge Source (especially if O-4 and Above) and/or Willing to Learn (at any grade) • DFA/DRM strongest allies in ESC • Understand each others roles. • Best Duo yet!
