  3. Achievements • Standardized the language & writing of China • City walls for defense were made longer • Secondary walls built (would become The Great Wall of China • Made tomb of 7,500 life-size terracotta soldiers • Introduced a currency

  4. Notable Events • By 202 B.C., the harsh Qin Dynasty gave way to the Han Dynasty, one of the longest in Chinese history. • Peasants rebelled just three years after the second Qin emperor took office • After Shi Huangdi learnt some scholars' discussions about his arrogance, he buried 460 of them alive.

  5. Contact with Other Cultures • Emperor was very imperialistic • Tensions with Mongols (started construction of the Great Wall)
