  1. INFN-T1 status report Andrea Chierici 9thQuattor Workshop Thessaloniki

  2. CDB to SCDB transition • In my opinion a big improvement, but… • …some people still not happy about the change • Performance issue • Prone to human error (commit before build) • We are investigating on the possibility to create a wrapper command • Has someone already done this? 9th Quattor Workshop

  3. Status • ~3900 templates on scdb • 20 clusters • 1 legacy with non standard templates • 16 scdb users • 1 quattor+svn server • 1 dedicated frontend 9th Quattor Workshop

  4. OSes • SLC4x is still the most used • SL5x (no CERN version) is now the most used • Used as a base for glite 3.2 nodes • For kernel upgrades and security fixes investigating QWG approach • Deployed a test version, not in production yet 9th Quattor Workshop

  5. Glite • glite 3.1 is still installed most • glite 3.2 is installed most • All Vos validated the software • Wnodes allows slc4 → sl5 smooth transition • Using yaim to configure grid elements • This is not going to change… 9th Quattor Workshop

  6. Virtualization • KVM choosen as infn-t1 hypervisor • Deployment of WNODES • Still no connection between hypervisor and VMs in template set, no clear idea if we want to do this • CDF farm installed on quattorized VMs • Xen phasing out 9th Quattor Workshop

  7. Increasing complexity • Even if I tried to generalize the templates as much as I could • Peculiar solutions appear on cdb every day • Very difficult to track bugs  • Maybe this is unavoidable  9th Quattor Workshop

  8. Problems/bugs • Stuck on a dirperm problem affecting many nodes • See my email to quattor-discussion on 3-mar • Not sure what the problem is [INFO] running component: dirperm --------------------------------------------------------- [ERROR] bad owner or group (doncampana:pamela) [INFO] configure on component dirperm executed, 1 errors, 0 warnings 9th Quattor Workshop
