Guam / NMI PSHA: Sensitivity Tests

Guam / NMI PSHA: Sensitivity Tests. Chuck Mueller U.S. Geological Survey Golden, Colorado, USA. Ground motion sensitivity tests. In-slab seismicity dominates hazard at the islands. These sensitivity tests substitute for the OFR GMPE: Zhao (70%) + Zhao’ (30%) + 25% epistemic.

  1. Guam / NMI PSHA:Sensitivity Tests Chuck Mueller U.S. Geological Survey Golden, Colorado, USA

  2. Ground motion sensitivity tests In-slab seismicity dominates hazard at the islands.These sensitivity tests substitute for the OFR GMPE: Zhao (70%) + Zhao’ (30%) + 25% epistemic. • Test 1: Use Geomatrix in-slab + epistemic • Test 2: Use Atkinson&Boore global in-slab + epistemic • Test 3: Use Atkinson&Boore japan in-slab + epistemic • Test 4: Use Zhao (35%) + Zhao’ (15%) + Geomatrix (25%) + Abjapan (25%) (no epistemic) • Test 5: Use BCHydro in-slab + epistemic

  3. Test 1: Use Geomatrix instead of Zhao for in-slab (d2-d8)

  4. Test 2: Use ABglobal instead of Zhao for in-slab (d2-d8)

  5. Test 3: Use ABjapan instead of Zhao for in-slab (d2-d8)

  6. Test 4: Use Zhao (35%) + Zhao’ (15%) + Geomatrix (25%) + ABjapan (25%) for in-slab (d2-d8)

  7. Test 5: Use BCHydro instead of Zhao for in-slab (d2-d8)

  8. This is an important case: similar to the 1993 eqk at Guam From the BCHydro report

  9. Mmax sensitivity test We use Mmax = 8.2 for: 1) Benioff (41-200km) seismicity with Zhao (70%) + Zhao’ (30%) + epistemic, and 2) shallow outer-rise seismicity with NGA + Zhao crustal From the BCHydro report

  10. Test: Use Mmax 8.0 instead of 8.2 for shallow outer rise (NGA+Zhao crustal) and Benioff 41-200 (Zhao+Zhao’+epistemic in-slab)
