STEM Practices Focus for 2014-15: Modify Supports Extension of Learning Students need to constantly work to improve learning towards Mastery We will support students towards Mastery by proving opportunities Students settling for ‘C’ or ‘D’ work In Practice, students will be asked to redo, retry, Rethink their product to demonstrate their learning

Dress code Our school DRESS CODE: • Solid COLORED Navy blue, Black or Khaki pants, knee length shorts or skirts – NO RIPS, TEARS, HOLES, SPLITS, ETC... • (NO CAMOFLAGUE/PRINTS on pants, shorts or skirts permitted, NO outerwear/hoodies will be worn during the school day) • Solid Colored Shirts of ANY COLOR; must be polo or button down only (ALL SHIRTS MUST HAVE A COLLAR) • NO T-shirts, sandals, flip flops, slides, or open-toe shoes without strapped heel permitted

10. Attendance and Tardies Daily Attendance Class attendance Tardies Be at school every day, on time Instruction begins at 7:30, not when you walk into room Role in bell to bell instruction is to make it to class, prepared for learning It adds up, missed class time is missed learning

11. Daily attendance Expectations to be ready for learning Be in the building by 7:25. this will guarantee you will have enough time to make it to your 1st block class. Don’t expect to walk into the building at 7:30 without consequence Multiple Tardies to school will result in consequences of lunch or after school detention. Students are responsible for time in class from 7:30-2:30 Parents: This is not an exact science. We are setting up expectations for students to be in school, in class, on time!!!!! 12. Class attendance Hall transitions/Passes Students are to be in class prior to the Bell ringing. Bells are a signal to begin and end instruction and Learning. Hall inspections will occur. Multiple tardies will result in students making up instructional time during lunch and after school AGAIN, Parents: This is not an exact science. We are setting up expectations for students to be in school, in class, on time!!!!! Any excuse/reason/rationale deters from our Academic Focus

13. Class attendance Hall transitions/Passes Passes will be limited to not deter from our academic Focus. Teachers control student access to use of the hallways during instructional time. Emergencies are just that, emergencies. parents, we need you to communicate to us on the needs of your student. Teachers plan lessons around instruction and the academic needs of your student.
