  2. Overseas Travel • Monthly – up to reference period June 2010 • Published detailed country level data • Changed to quarterly release from Q3 2010 onwards • Reduced the level of detail published

  3. Quarterly Release • Quarter 3 2010 onwards • Calendar quarters only • Less detail published- fewer individual countries

  4. Change to rolling 3 month release • First period : May – July 2011 • Same level of detail as in calendar quarter releases • Still publish calendar quarter data in release • Timeliness - publish 4 to 5 weeks after reference month

Household Travel Survey • Traditionally- quarterly data published • 2010, 2011- annual data only published • 2012 – some quarterly data will be published as well as annual data • Review of methodology – revise 2010, 2011 data in 2012 release • Publish 2012 data- 20 June 2013 • Publish Q 1 2013 data – July 2013

HTS methodology- domestic travel • Domestic travel- change methodology from 2010 onwards • Prior 2010 – results weighted to QNHS estimates – also same calibration was applied to domestic travel as for outbound travel • Since 2010 -results weighted to agree household population estimates by household type (QNHS) only

  7. HTS methodology-outbound travel • Outbound Travel- change in methodology from 2010 onwards • Results weighted to agree household population estimates by household type (QNHS) • Further weighted to frontier survey Tourism and Travel for trips , nights and expenditure- from 2010 onwards only

  8. HTS and TTS (Tourism and Travel Survey)- main differences in results • HTS includes travel to Northern Ireland- TTS includes overseas travel only • HTS – travel with 1 + overnight stay • TTS – covers both same day trips and overnight trips
