  2. Position • Offside position • Nearer to the opponent’s goal line than the ball • Nearer to the opponent’s goal line than the second to last opponent • Not in your own half of the field

  3. Remember!!!!! Offside Position is NOT a crime

  4. To have an Offense All three factors must be present! • In an offside position • At the moment the ball touches a teammate • Become involved in active play (More on this later!)

  5. Exceptions Offside Position? Goal Kick Corner Kick Throw In Yes Offside Offense? NO!!!

  6. Review Question To be in an offside position, a player must be which of the following? • Nearer to the opponent’s goal line than the ball • Nearer to the opponent’s goal line than the second to last defender • In the opponent’s half of the field • All of the above
