Shape Goals Section 3: Affiliate Engagement • 3.4 Actively promote SHRM Certification and Recertification for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRMCP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by having successfully completed the SHRM Preferred Provider registration process. • • Your chapter can qualify for higher level awards by completing items from the list below. See specific award levels to determine how many more are required. • 1.Have a designated SHRM Certification Champion responsible for educating Chapter members about SHRM certification including requirements for eligibility and recertification. • 2. Hold at least 2 information sessions within the calendar year on SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification and recertification as part of Chapter activities. • 3. Display credential holders’ SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP designations on their name badges at Chapter events. • 4. Recognize SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credential holders at Chapter events. • 5. Increase the number of SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credential holders in the chapter. • 6. Offer a minimum of 4 programs worthy of Professional Development Credits (PDCs) (i.e., program content is aligned to the SHRM BoCK). • 7. Offer a SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP) preparation study group and/or a formalized instructional class or partner with a local college or university that offers the 2015 SHRM Learning System.
State Council/Chapter Incentive Program • State Councils will earn $10 for every SHRM National member in the state who is SHRM certified on December 31, 2015 • Chapters in good standing will earn $20 for every SHRM National member in the chapter who is SHRM certified on December 31, 2015 and has designated the chapter as primary • Incentive program will continue in 2016 as well • Payments will be made in January 2016 and January 2017 This Incentive Program aligns SHRM and its affiliates, encourages participation in the SHRM certification program, and compensates State Councils/Chapters for any revenue loss associated with decline in recertification activity related to the legacy certifications.

How Do You Become a Champion? Offer SHRM Learning System to Members on Your Own Partner With Local Education Partner • Offer a SHRM Learning System Study Group for members • Purchase 1 facilitator guide and a minimum of 5 participant guides • Ensure a participant kit is purchased for each member • Find a local school in your area on SHRM’s website & reach out to form partnership/connection • Promote a classroom-based, instructor-led course to your members
