Idea # of papers in Spires (find cn Belle and cn BaBar) • joint / project • initiated in March 2009 • ~700 papers in scientific journal • over the last decade • no review by either coll. in certain • area of physics • huge amount of expertise, • developed exp. methods, results • and conclusions dispersed • in (short) papers 500 400 300 200 (partial period) 100 2000 2002 2004 2006 2008 2010

Idea • Preservation: • not really data itself, rather • preservation of knowledge; • motivation for (really) intense • analysis of full Belle data set • → keeping Belle data alive • for a while; • SuperKEKB/Belle II oficially • funded → Belle data in use at • least by the time • BelleIILdt  BelleLdt; • collection and update of written • and graphics material; • Idea of the book: • full reviews on all of the major • physics areas that the B-factories • have studied over the last decade; • including motivation, exp.methods, • results, conclusions • immediate value for people who will • work on Super-B factory and for all • high energy physicists wanting to • learn about studies at B factories; • reference text on heavy flavour phys. • studied at Belle and BaBar

Status • define two sets of notations: • a) (f1,f2,f3 |C, mES, ...) • b) (b,a,g | A,Mbc, ...) • [“...” = any further stubborn differences] • Belle/BaBar notation for (angles | ....) • will be partially balanced by using • BaBar/Belle notation for (.... | others). • Choose between (a) and (b) by • ceremonial coin toss Technical issues Related to Style guide: known notation problems f1,f2,f3/b,a,g (S,A) / (S,C) Mbc/mES ...
