  1. King Henry The VII!!!

  2. King Henry the VIII was a cruel but powerful man. In this speech you will learn about King of England and how he is still remembered today. King Henry the VIII was most famous for his many wives. He had six of them: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr. King Henry was very mean unfair towards his wives. The fortune of them can be remembered in a rhyme; Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived! King Henry wanted a divorce from his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. He went to the Catholic Church and asked the pope if he could divorce. He replied no. Henry started his own church, The Church of England. Because he was the head of this church, King Henry was able to grant the divorce from Catherine of Aragon.

  3. There’s a game that my brother used to play with me that related to King Henry the VIII. We’d go into the bathroom, close the door, and turn off the lights. Then we’d run cold water over our hands and turn around while saying, “Bloody Mary.’’ Next we’d look in the mirror and supposedly you would see the ghost of Bloody Mary. But of course you never did. Or another example, the drink Bloody Mary, why do you think it’s blood red? Well, it’s because Bloody Mary was King Henry the VIII’s daughter! The story goes that Mary was called Bloody Mary because she executed so many people that belonged to The Church of England that when she died her ghost was stained in blood forever. So many things we see ,do, and think relate back to king Henry the VIII and his life. As an example the song about his wives which my mom still sings to me even though it’s not the prettiest song ever.
