  12. Full-time faculty Part-time faculty 3 Full-time staff Part-time staff  2 Total faculty/staff FTE Counting Faculty/Staff FTE Employees + + + = EES offers the convenience of licensing products based on the number of faculty/staff (FTE) employees in the organization. The formula below outlines how to determine thenumber of faculty/staff FTE employees an organization has: For example, you have 2,000 full-time faculty, 3,000 part-time faculty, 1,000 full-time staff, and 1,000 part-time staff. The FTE employee count is calculated as follows: 2,000 + (3000  3) + 1,000 + (1000  2) = 4,500 FTE employees

  13. Some caveats about counting FTE: • You don’t count Substitute teachers • You don’t count non-knowledge workers • Bus Drivers • Cafeteria Staff • Maintenance Staff • There would be a sub-set of the above that manage these groups that you would count.
