School Goals • Two thirds of the cadets will be actively participating in non-ROTC extracurricular activities in and out of school by the end of 3rd quarter. • Assist various school activities and events including, but not limited to, athletics, clubs, and special events a minimum of once a month on average. • In Progress – Roughly 50% of the corps is attending a club. • Each year we assist the school in running wrestling tournaments, Cougar Fest, (our school bands tournament) and a number of football games.

  4. Cadet Goals • Overall cadet average of 2.65 GPA by the end of 3rd Quarter. • Increase E2C average to 75% by the end of 3rd Quarter. • Tutoring and other academic enrichment programs are being implemented. • Last year we had an average of 67.2%, and we hope we will exceed that number this year.

With a total number of roughly 130 cadets. • It is a three week program that gives incoming freshman a chance to experience the program before the school year begins. • The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of leadership, marching, and show the cadet trainees some of what they can expect during the year. • We take several trips to places such as Camp Pendleton, Wet Training, U.S.S Midway. • We participate in many events such as the 4th of July parade, and war games.

  6. Honors Camp • Top half of the top 1% gains admission and has the priviledge to attend the pretigious camp. • Two years ago we had our first cadet to get accepted, and since then we have sent one another and has recently just 3 more applications..

  7. Combat Dining In • New tradition in ROTC that has taken place for the last 2 years. • Combat Dining In not only brings together the flights in rigorous flight competition but also the sister units. This year we invited Moreno Valley’s AFJROTC unit to inspire corps values and unit bonding.

  8. Christmas Toy Drive • Every year CA-871 hosts a toy drive to raise toys for less fortunate children. • Cadets are given the opportunity to donate and then distribute the toys at Sunnymead Elementary School. • This year we raised over 300 toys and roughly $220.00 setting the record for most items/money fundraised.
