Life • Mikhail Fedorovich lived 49 years and 1 day. He died the day after his birthday. • He was czar for 32 years. He became czar when he was 16 years old. He was czar from 1613- 1645.and he founded the Romanov dynasty. • Fedorovich had one son named Alexis and one daughter named Irina Mikhailovna. • Fedorovich’s son, Alexis, became czar after Fedorovich. • He was the son Fyodor Nikitich Romanov.
Life Con. • Fedorovich was related to the last czar of the Rurik dynasty, Fyodor 1 (reigned 1584-1598). • As the founder of the Romanov dynasty, the dynasty lasted from 1613-1917. • Fedorovich was poorly educated. • In 1601, his father had been forced to become a monk under the name Philaret.
Economic Aspects • The Russian economy under the Romanov dynasty has been driven primarily by agriculture. • Until 1865, the economy was driven by forced labor. • Serfs worked as manufacturing laborers. • He was the founder of the Romanov dynasty, which ruled Russia until 1917.

Cultural Aspects • When Mikhail Fedorovich came into power Russia was under the influence of the Orthodox Church. • He became Patriarch of the church and also dominated much of Michael's government. • His involvement in the government helped increase diplomatic, commercial, and cultural contact with Western Europe.

Political Aspects • Michael approached Moscow on May 2, 1613, all the men in the city went out to greet him and show their support. • Michael's coronation took place in the Dormition Cathedral. • He dressed in royal purple, wore the crown as a symbol of service, and held the scepter and orb as a symbol of his authority
