  2. Aim of the Chi Lin Nunnery Following the Buddha’s spirit of “loving kindness, compassion, joy and sacrifice”, our aim is to provide religious, educational and welfare services for the people of Hong Kong.

  4. Chi Lin Care and Attention Home • Operation : 1994 • Capacity : 318 Beds

  5. Services • Round the clock nursing & personal care. • Medical consultation. • Social work service. • Physiotherapy. • Occupational Therapy. • Meals. • Support services including laundry and transportation.

  6. Funding Government Subvention Fees It is stipulated by Social Welfare Department • Around $2,000 / month

  8. Services • Round the clock nursing & personal care • Medical consultation • Social work service • Physiotherapy • Occupational Therapy • Meals • Support services including laundry and transportation

  9. Fees * Additional care fee would be charged on those residents requiring extra nursing care.

  11. Chi Lin Day Care Centre for the Elderly • One type of community support service with an aim to enable elderly persons to continue living in the community. • Provides a wide range of services for the frail elderly during the day time at the centre.

  14. Funding Government subvention and self-financing. Fees Subvented place : HK$934/ month (It is stipulated by Social Welfare Department) Self-financing place : HK$2,800/ month

  15. Chi Lin Geriatric Dental Clinic Operation : August 2000 Aim : The clinic is to provide a comprehensive, quality, low cost, and specialized dental service to the poor, sick and elderly.

  16. Uniqueness of the Clinic • The dental clinic is unique with the following characteristics:- • Priority for the elderly, poor and sick. • Reduction of barriers. • More time spent on each patients. • Specially designed ramp. • Specially trained personnel.

  17. Sponsored HK$8.2 million by the Hong Kong Jockey • Club for the set up. • Recurrent expenses of the first 3 years. • From 2003 onward, it has operated on self-financing basis.

  20. Funding The set up cost was sponsored by Wai Hung Charity Foundation, and the recurrent operation is based on a self- financing mode.
