  1. CFC Singles for Family and Life: COVENANT RECOLLECTION FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP Session 8

  2. God wants our finances and financial responsibilities to be guided by the Holy Spirit. We are called to give for the furtherance of our mission.

  3. Three basic ways we use our finances for the Lord 1. Almsgiving 2. Resource sharing 3. Tithing

  4. Why should we give?

  5. We acknowledge that all belongs to God. The earth is the LORD’s and all it holds, the world and those who dwell in it. Ps 24:1

  6. We are merely stewards.

  7. We owe our prosperity to God. “It is the LORD’s blessing that brings wealth, and no effort can substitute for it.” Proverbs 10:22

  8. The Practice of Christian Stewardship

  9. Almsgiving “Whoever cares for the poor lends to the LORD,who will pay back the sum in full.” Proverbs 19:17

  10. Resource sharing Sharing our material resources to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters Given over and above tithe.

  11. Tithing It is given to the immediate body of Christ where one draws support for one’s Christian life.

  12. Tithing Since the days of your ancestors you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, that I may return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, “Why should we return?” Can anyone rob God? But you are robbing me! And you say, “How have we robbed you?” Of tithes and contributions! You are indeed accursed, for you, the whole nation, rob me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, That there may be food in my house. Put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, And see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you, and pour down upon you blessing without measure! Mal 3:7-10

  13. Tithing Essential to our life as growing Christians. Stewardship Gratitude Priorities Faith Conversion Zeal for God’s kingdom

  14. Tithing Let us not lose the proper perspective. It is God’s way of giving us privilege of being his co-workers in Kingdom-building. We still have the 90%.

  15. Tithing What if I don’t have enough? START with what you can give.

  16. Tithing When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasuryand he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest;for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” Lk 21:1-4

  17. 2 Cor 9:6-8

  18. Discussion Starter For discussion in the household meetings. • Do you understand that everything belongs to God and you are just a steward? 2. How do you see yourself in terms of the measures of spiritual growth?
