  2. Basic Information • A midsegment of a triangle is a segment that connects the midpoints of two sides of the triangle. • Midsegment Theorem: The segment connecting the midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and is half as long as that side.

  3. Example • In the diagram, TU and ST are midsegmentsof triangle PQR. Find PR and TU.

  4. Example • Use the diagram of triangle XVZ where U, V, and W are the midpoints of the sides. • If UW = 4x- l and YZ = 5x + 4, what is UW? • Find YV.
