Michigan Trains Permits • Involves steel haulers from NW Indiana to Detroit • Michigan Trains = specially configured trucks requiring special permits • Indiana law now requires Michigan Trains to carry transponders • Permit will be automatic as trucks cross sensors • Alternate routes will be monitored

  13. Hoosier Helper Assistance • Hoosier Helpers = INDOT’S Motorist Assistance Operators • They provide assistance to superload escorts • Clearing obstacles • Changing message boards • Temporarily blocking lanes/ramps • Responding to incidents
