  1. ControlSoft useable control technology featuring MultiState Buttons Previous versions of ControlSoft could only fire one sequence from any button on the main panel above. Now, Csoft can be configured to ‘listen’ to the network and change the label and macro assigned to a button. For example, a button can now toggle between on and off when it ‘hears’ preset 1 and 4 on that area. In fact any button can flip to any label/macro upon hearing any Area/Preset message or Custom Code.

  2. ControlSoft useable control technology First things first. As per usual, you use the right mouse button on a button to configure its label/macro. The window above is familiar to you from previous versions but now has an ‘Advanced’ Checkbox.

  3. ControlSoft useable control technology The ‘non-advanced’ section still works as per normal and gives a ‘start point’ for the label of the button and what macro it will execute the first time Csoft is started.

  4. ControlSoft useable control technology The ‘Advanced’ section works along the lines of ‘Events’ and allows you to select ANY area/preset or ANY CustomCode to ‘listen’ for. You can then determine what you would like the button label to read and what macro it should execute the next time it is pressed.

  5. ControlSoft useable control technology In the above example (one I prepared earlier…) You can see that the Label for the button is initially set to ‘Dim’ and the the macro it will execute is ‘Showroom Dim’.. In the advanced section: We can listen for A1,P4 (Showroom to Off) , make the label read ‘Showroom On’, and select the macro to execute, in this case ‘Showroom On Fast’.

  6. ControlSoft useable control technology Now, I’ve gone ahead and entered some more into the grid. You can see that if Csoft hears the area go to off either directly or via an Area 0 message, that the button will read ‘ON’ and the macro it executes will be suitable. If the Showroom is in either of its two other modes ( ON or M id ), the button will read ‘OFF’ and again take on the appropriate macro to execute next time it is pressed.

  7. ControlSoft useable control technology Notice now that the button reads ‘Dim’ upon start up. If Csoft should hear either A1,P4 A1,P1 or A0,P4 then the button will change label and function to suit. There is absolutely NO LIMIT to how many things you can listen for and react to.

  8. ControlSoft useable control technology Notice now, that the monitor has seen an Area1, Preset 4. Notice also, that the label of button one has changed to suit and will turn the Showroom on with its next press.

  9. ControlSoft useable control technology And now, someone in the showroom has pressed a button on a U-Pan to turn the showroom on. The monitor sees the A1,P1 message and the button has changed again. This time to ‘Showroom Off’ Its pretty easy.

  10. ControlSoft useable control technology The same thing can be done for Custom-Codes. So you can re-act to ANY Dynalite message to effect a change.

  11. ControlSoft useable control technology And that’s the tutorial for today! There are some other improvements such as a “Cancel All Macros” command and the ability to cancel individual macros from the “View Macros Running Screen” but I’ll let you find those as you go - they are quite self explanatory.
