Program Definition What is “Professional Capacity Building”?: • Process of developing knowledge and skills that directly increase effectiveness in job performance • Relies on multiple methods to achieve “continuous” and “accessible” learning: • Training • Education • Technical Assistance • Outreach • Peer Exchange • Others

  3. With the right mix of training, education, technical assistance, and information, individuals and agencies can better prepare to meet ITS needs, and receive the right depth of information at the right time. Readily accessible requires that the most effective form of learning materials be available when the need arises for a professional to learn. ITS PCB Program: Philosophy

  4. The ITS PCB Program • Portal for ITS Learning: • Over 30 instructor-led courses in current ITS Curriculum • Links to other courses and sources of technical assistance • Reliance on partnerships • Annual program of $3 to 3.5 million
