  1. VCARC HAMSTUDY.ORG How to utilize this free program to acquire your FCC Technician license. This is a free program!

  2. Go to Hamstudy.org then go to the Log-in page shown below. If you have a FaceBook page use it. Or a Google acct. If not, register, this is important. It gives you a running score of your progress. Click “stay logged in”. This will allow you to simply come back to the site and continue on with your score being constantly updated.

  3. This is the first page after log-in. Please click “Technician” and proceed.

  4. Ok, now it’s time to pick a study style. Please use “Study Flash Cards”. Click and proceed.

  5. This is your start. Each box is a question with 4 answers. Pick your choice. The program will say correct or wrong. The box at the right keeps your score. More about the right box later.

  6. Your guessed it. You got it right. Simply click “Next”. If you’re interested in knowing about what your reading click the small box in the top right corner. More about this box coming up!

  7. Ok, you blew it. Time to learn. Click the box in the top for real good info. Then click next for your next choice.

  8. Ok, you clicked the top right corner box. This is a good Wiki-pedia short explanation of what the question is about. This will help almost as much as all our lectures in the class.

  9. This box is important. Understand that the total number of questions are in the 10 groups in the middle of the box. As your score continues to improve, keep a look at the “overall seen” percentage. You have to be at 100% before the “Aptitude” score means anything.

  10. STUDY HARD! • Some things to consider. Don’t overdo this. Unless you’re a Phd in electronics or physics, this is really heavy and new to a lot of us. Also, you are studying to pass the test. Don’t worry about how this all works, or how your new radio works. After you pass, all of us old “Elmers” will talk to you and walk you into being familiar with the air-ways and using your radio. • A good idea is to use this test on your lap-top or pad. If you use your pad remember to turn it horizontal so you see the running score box. If your spouse will tolerate it, using it in the quiet of your bedroom for ½ hour each evening (stop reading for awhile) is a good time. • The first week will be frustrating. Realize, every time you miss a question, Hamstudy throws it back in until you establish knowing it. Very rapidly your score will grow.
