  3. Characteristics • express meaningor emotional experience rather than physical reality. • heightened, symbolic colors and exaggerated imagery • intense colour, agitated brushstrokes, and disjointed space

  4. Amedeo Modigliani • July 12 1884- January 24 1920 • A figurative artist • Born into a jewish family, in Italy did a lot of art work in France as he got older • He was sick as a young adult and often thought he was going to pass, he suffered from tuberculosis, thyroid fever and pleurisy.
