Collaborative Station: • Complete the Edmodo MSDS Scavenger Hunt and submit your answers there. • Complete the “What Makes a Good Source” Edmodo activity and read through the information provided there: due as an exit slip from the station on Edmodo. Direct Instruction: • Sections of the MSDS • Interpreting the MSDS • Project Introduction: Pick a chemical compound that influences the health and safety of your community in some way. Examples to consider: food additives, additives to plastics, air pollution, contaminants in our water, etc. You will complete a series of data organizers regarding your compound before writing a report that summarizes your findings. You must get your compound choice approved by Dr. Kauffman. Complete a KWL organizer about your chemical compound. Individual Instruction: • Download the three files from Edmodo: Info_from_MSDS, Flinn_ethyl_acetate, and Fisher_ethyl_acetate. • Complete the questions on the Info_from_MSDS worksheet and submit the completed worksheet on Edmodo. • Read Tuesday’s Achieve 3000 article titled “Flies Bugging Bees,” complete all six steps of the process, and complete the Current Events Summary graphic organizer. Submit this organizer on Edmodo. • Research your particular compound and complete the Edmodo graphic organizer: due as an exit slip from the station on Edmodo
