  2. Chem II Fall Final Specifics • 50 Multiple Choice Questions • All questions weighted equally • Will be given Periodic Table with most equations and constants, as well as a solubility table and activity series • Alllowed Cheat Sheet: 8 ½ x 11 sheet , front and back • Must be handwritten • Cannot be photocopied • May include anything, including example problems

  3. Cheat Sheet Ideas • Significant Figure Rules • Counting and Calculations • Basic Metric Conversions/Prefixes • Nomenclature Rules • Nomenclature Flow Chart • Roman Numerals (and when to use them) • Greek Prefixes (and when to use them) • Acid Nomenclature Rules • Reaction Types (S, D, SR, DR, Comb) • How to use activity series/solubility table • Predicting Single/Double Replacement Reactions • Mole Island Diagram (most definitely!) • Procedure for Limiting Reactant/%Yield problems

  4. Cheat Sheet Ideas • Sign conventions for q and w • Heating Curve of Water • Steps 2 and 4 (kJ), Steps 1, 3, and 5 (J) • Make ΔH (-) if going down curve • Nuclear decay particles • Example Problems Ideas SF Calculations Conversions Nomenclature (important for Word Equations!) fixed/variable charge ionic, covalent, acids Name → Formula and Formula → Name

  5. Cheat Sheet Ideas • Example Problems, con’t Balancing Equations Predicting Products of SR, DR, and Comb. Rxns Writing Complete and Net Ionic Equations Stoichiometry Calculations Limiting Reactants/Excess Reactants % Yield/% Error Internal Energy Heating Curve Calculations (1-5 steps) Calorimetry (q1 = -q2)

  6. Cheat Sheet Ideas • Example Problems, con’t Half-life problems Transmutation reactions Nuclear definitions (i.e. fission v. fusion) Complete atomic designation
