Prerequisites for Video Insight DVR: 64 Bit Operating System (Windows 7 or equivalent) SQL Server 2008 R2 (Please check with Video Insight if client does not have SQL Server 2008 R2) DSX Features Key: Following Procedures are for after the DVR integration has been purchased and enabled on DSX features key. Video Insight DVR: The following procedures also take into consideration that the end user has a Video Insight DVR that has been preconfigured and is working. DSX / Video Insight - Interface Driver: Navigate to the Video Insight Download page at the following link: http://downloadvi.com/ Towards the bottom of the page, you will find a section for Other Access Control Software select and download the DSX install. 1: Download file name: dsxsetup.exe 2: Copy the dsxsetup.exe into the WinDSX folder. 3: Execute dsxsetup.exe from within the WinDSX folder and install into the same. Files created as a result of this will be DVR1.txt and dsxuninstall.exe. This same procedure will also load all .dll files and executables required for the interface, directly into the WinDSX folder.

The Following procedures will take into consideration that the end user is logged into both WinDSX Database and Video Insight Monitor Station applications. • Step 1:Video Insight - Monitor Station – CameraID • 1: Select and expand the IP Server. • 2: Right Click and select the Properties for the specific Camera. • 3: Select the Record Tab, Highlight, right click and copy the CameraID from the bottom right corner of the screen.

  4. Step 2:WinDSX database – Camera Configuration. • General Tab: • 1: Camera Number: # (Physical number camera) • 2: Camera Name: Video Insight Cam. 01 < (Example) • 3: Camera Type: DVR

Step 2:WinDSX database – Camera Configuration. • Digital Video Camera Tab: • 1: DVR Server Name: IP Address of the DVR • 2: Assign Cameras: # (Same as CameraID) < (Paste into this field the CameraID that was copied from the Video Insight Monitor Station Step 4 above.) • 3: DVR Server User Logon: DVR User Name • 4: DVR Server User Password: DVR User Password • Note: The initial DVR1.txt file will be deleted upon adding camera.

  6. Step 3:WinDSX Workstation – Camera Configuration. • Workstation: • 1: Select the specific Location and expand to see the options. • 2: Select the Camera Option. • 3: Select the specific camera, right click and select the option for live video. • 4: Note the Video Insight Icon in the task bar. • Click to display live video.
