  12. Hispanic Impact Fund Funding Areas, Application Process & Timeline

  13. When Hispanics Rise, Austin Rises What does the data say? • 28% of low-income Hispanic children are kindergarten-ready. A child who is prepared for kindergarten is four times more likely to pass state assessments by the 3rd grade. • 25% of working-age Hispanic adults have no primary healthcare provider, leaving Hispanic families one health crisis away from financial ruin. • Nearly 75% of Hispanics are in the paid labor force. However, having such a large part of the population confined to unskilled jobs and minimal incomes reduces the economic growth potential of our community. Hispanic Impact Fund

  14. When Hispanics Rise, Austin Rises The HIF’s 2019 Request For Proposals will be open to nonprofits that focus on these three impact areas: • Early Childhood Education: The Hispanic Impact Fund will focus our educational investments in programs that promote kindergarten readiness. • Health & Wellness: The Hispanic Impact Fund will focus our health & wellness investments in programs that promote health education and access to healthcare. • Job Skills & Entrepreneurship: The Hispanic Impact Fund will focus our investments in this area on programs that support small business access to capital and workforce development. Hispanic Impact Fund

  15. Award Types • The Hispanic Impact Fund will be awarding two levels of grants in each of our three impact areas. • One $50,000 grant to an established nonprofit. • One $10,000 grant to an emerging nonprofit. • Established nonprofits are organizations with an annual budget greater than $500,000. • This year, the Fund will award six grants totaling $180,000. • Nonprofits may only choose one grant level and one impact area for consideration.
