Success of the experiential learning component(s) of a co-operative education programme is dependent on a number of key issues, e.g.: • The experiential learning curriculum and guidelines (courseware). • Registration for experiential learning and where needed placement assistance. • Orientation (briefing and objective setting) prior to commencement of experiential learning. • Planning and contracting of an individual student’s experiential learning.

  7. Success of experiential learning … key issues continues: • Appointment of a work-place mentor (supervisor of experiential learning). • Monitoring (visitation) of progress (formative assessment). • Summative assessment of experiential learning and feedback. • Facilitated reflection on experiential learning or debriefing of students. • Evaluation of the completed experiential learning and the attainment of academic credit.
