  1. Stratiformvs Convective

  2. Qn (Convective) – Qn (Stratiform) 700hPa

  3. Qn (Convective) – Qn (Stratiform) 500hPa

  4. Qcw (Convective) – Qcw (Stratiform) tmc (Convective) – tmc (Stratiform)

  5. Classify methods • Steiner et al. 1995 (1). RefZ3km>40dbz (2). RefZ3km-Zbg > 10 – Z2bg /180 here, Zbg is average of Ref at 3 km height 11 km around the computer grid. (3)any grid point identified as a convective center by one of above two criteria, all surrounding grid points within an intensity-dependent convective radius around that grid point are also included as convective area But considering the grid resolution of RR is 13 km , we only applied the rule (1) and (2).

  6. Observed reflectivity at 3km from 2006061518- 2006061618

  7. SHY95 result

  8. Cold start interval

  9. High resolution Lack of data?
