  2. Why Compliance is Important • A franchise system is founded on the idea that we are all going to represent our business to the public using the same practices.

Compliance Issues • Trainings – Mandatory • New Franchisee Orientation (NFO), Franchise Management Training, Sales Training, Business/Office Manager’s Training and Grand Opening Visit (GOV) • Annual Workshop – generally in February • Trainings – Optional • Regional Trainings (attendance highly recommended), Remodeling 101

  6. Compliance Issues • Trademarks Usage • Using the Case (R) correctly is important • Marketing Materials Usage • See Case of Knowledge regarding means, methods and requirements • Any marketing created outside of MediaBuilder will require prior approval by Case Corporate.

  7. Compliance Issues • Client Complaints • Verbal or e-mail complaints received by Case • Phone call to you first, then if necessary to client • Keys to success in solving problems is communication and responsiveness • Large Project Review • For CHS – jobs over $20K • For CHR – jobs over $75K

Compliance Issues • Business Set Up Submissions to Case • Articles of Incorporation • Certificate of Insurance naming Case Handyman & Remodeling Services, LLC as additional insured related to the General Liability coverage • Copy of Business license • Copy of Contractor’s license • Standard contract stating independently owned and operated • Other – Marketing materials, pictures of trucks

  9. Compliance Issues – Big Issues Course of Conduct Issues • Client complaint level is high • Non-responsive to client complaints • Misrepresentation.

  10. Pre-Requisites to Open • Attend all necessary trainings (NFO, FMT ST and B/OM) • Have necessary financing in place ready to fund first year goals as a minimum. Proof of funding required. • Marketing plan must be approved. • Marketing plan must be implemented on time. • Franchise Fees are paid.

  11. Royalty Collection Process • Invoice sent by Corporate to you by e-mail around the 5-6th of the month. • We take it from your Sales the end of the previous month. • You respond if there was a cancellation or modification. Adjustment is made. • The 10th of each month the royalty is due.

Compliance Issues • Yearly Submissions to Case • Yearly Financial Models – Due Dec. 10th • Certificate of Insurance naming Case Handyman & Remodeling Services, LLC as additional insured related to the General Liability coverage • P&L Statement and Balance Sheet • Other Financial Statements that may be requested • Standard contract stating independently owned and operated
