The Officials’ responsibility ends when the field is cleared This is a JOINT EFFORT with Officials & Administrators Game cannot resume until 30 minutes has passed since the LAST sight of lightning or SOUND of thunder!

  13. OHSAA ALWAYS ERR ON SIDE OF SAFETY IF lightning detector sounds the alarm before thunder is heard or lightning is seen, suspend play immediately.

  14. OHSAA • Lightning Detectors … Warning Signal the same as seeing lightning …. CLEAR IT !! • Restart only after 30 minutes …. OR …. After Detector Signals All Clear Whichever Comes …. LATER !!

INTERRUPTED MATCHES IF GAME IS LATER COMPLETED • Continue from point of interruption • Any ejected player or coach cannot participate in the resumed game • Teams playing short, will continue to play short • Rule 7-1-3 is in effect. A match that does not reach halftime, can be completed from the point of interruption

INTERRUPTED MATCHES If game cannot be completed on that day, it is VERY important to record: • Time of and reason for, stoppage • Who kicked off & defended which goal • Location & type of restart • Score at stoppage • Any Misconduct cards – give complete info to Game Assigner thatnight • Send to A.D.’s of both schools
