Discussion Background • I apologize I did not make positive discussion on “how to survive with SVD2.0” in BGM. • At BGM, spokes persons asked each sub detector groups more aggressive upgrade plan, which should be robust against 3-5 times luminosity and background. • The following plan is discussed in yesterday’s SVD3 meeting and here assuming • 2006 summer-- SVD2.X installation • Implies 2005 --- whole preparation • If we install SVD2.x in 2007,

Fiscal year 2005(I) • DSSD production: 12 DSSD needed. 16 or 20 will be produced. 12 Myen. • Outer dimensions should be same as that for SVD2.0 DSSDs. • Internal design can be optimized for APV25 readout. • Hybrid (Glass epoxy) 24 necessary, 50 will be produced. Two trial 3 Myen. • Hybrid cables (Not defined yet) 1.5 Myen • Power supply/cooling --- Recycle the present system. • Assemblt Princeton or Melbourne • Fixture should be recycled. • Ladder parts 2Myen at most. • flex should be newly designed to connect DSSD and APV25 hybrid.

  4. Fiscal year 2005(II) • FADC: Vienna • PC interface card should be compatible with that of SVD2 • Structure and IP chamber: recycle SVD2 parts.

Fiscal year 2005(III) Undecided yet: Repeater system • Repeater system: 2 necessary, 2 spare/test 8Myen • We do not have enough time for iteration. • Is 40MHz analog/digital signal can be transferred in 40m cables? • Can SVD2 MAMBO recycled? • Then constraints to AVP25REBO is clear. • Who will take care of the repeater? • Timing distribution: Can TTM recycled?

  6. Fiscal year 2005(IV) Default upgrade • Whatever we decide, luminosity and background will increse. Independent of L1 choise, we need • Faster readout of VA1TA 2 Myen • L0 trigger upgrade 5 Myen • Adding PC farm 5 Myen

  7. Funding profile • If SVD2.X is installed in 2006 summer, most money should be spent in 2005 • In 2006 only system test and installation remains. • Should installation in 2006 failed, • I guess the reason is in preparation of repeater system and/or signal transfer between hybrid and repeater system. • Iteration of repeater system 3Myen • Iteration of hybrid cabling (matching card?) 1Myen • Extend group. • First ladder production
