Progression Content Y3-4 • Joining strip material to make simple frame structures e.g. dowel, square section timber, kit parts, artstraws, folded or rolled card and paper. • Use of card triangle joints to join square section timber. • Simple ways to join artstraws. • Investigating how to increase the strength of frames by the addition of triangles.

  9. Progression Content Y5-6 • Building and testing more complex frame structures from materials such as rolled paper and / or artstraws. • Introduction of a wider range of joining techniques. (photo) • Investigating packaging to see how the net has been designed and which measures have been taken to protect the contents.
