  1. Update on IMT Advanced from WP8F Meeting in May 2007

Circular Letter • WP8F plans to issue a Circular Letter to external organizations for the submission of candidate Radio Interface Technologies (RITs) for IMT-Advanced radio air interface • Circular Letter will be completed at its January 08 meeting • Circular Letter will consist of a Main Body and the following Annexes • Annex 1 Background on IMT-Advanced • Annex 2 Submission and evaluation process and consensus building • Annex 3 Requirements related to service capabilities • Annex 4 Requirements related to technical system performance • Annex 5 Spectrum related requirements • Annex 6 Submission guidelines & template for details of submission • Annex 7 Evaluation guidelines and test models • Annex 8 Relevant ITU-R Recommendations, Reports and others • Annex 9 IPR policy

  3. Structure of Work • WP8F structured into various Working Groups for IMT Advanced • Relevant documents related to each Annex and WG are below

  4. Technical Requirements • Technical Requirements mostly in 560R1 • Most requirements are in square brackets and have not been finalized • One more opportunity to influence requirements • WP8F meeting in January ’08 is last opportunity to influence requirements • Contributions should be sent to the Jan meeting • May be prudent to ensure that the UMB specifications are in line with the IMT Advanced requirements
