    • It is the system of organizing books into 10 major categories.

Who has Dewey?
  • ALL books can have a Dewey Decimal number. However, some sections of Dewey Decimal system are put in their own section of the Media Center. They may be separated for your convenience or the section may be quite large.
    • Fiction would actually be in 813.In our media center, we have them under Fic for Fiction.
    • Biographies are separated from the 900’s. They are marked Bio for Biographies.
    • Graphic Novels would actually be 741.5. They are in their own section and marked GN.

  • The sections that are marked with Dewey Decimal numbers are Career, Nonfiction and Reference.
    • Using the Dewey Decimal system keeps these sections organized.
