  3. Worry Worry is the preoccupation in the present with what the future might bring Worry can lead to medical problems & bad financial decisions Christians do not need to worry Worry ends when we learn to trust God

  4. Learning to Trust God Have the Correct Definition of Success 1. Love God with all heart, mind & soul 2. Become conformed to the image of Christ 3. Serve God and people

  8. Loving God, not the WorldThe Pursuit of Possessions – 1 John 2:16 Lust of the eyes = strong desire to have for one’s self You see something you like, then you want to own it. Marketing works because it seeks to satisfy this desire.

  9. Loving God, not the WorldThe Pursuit of Power – 1 John 2:16 Boastful pride of Life = effort to gain prestige and/or power. The problem is not prestige or power, but the wrong motives for gaining them. * Prestige to satisfy the ego * Power so others will serve them

  13. Loving God, Not the World Conclusions Remember you are a steward responsible to God The things of this world are temporary – live with eternity in view Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness – Matt. 6:33
