  15. IN A LAND NOT FAR AWAY There lived a “seasoned” special education teacher, hereinafter referred to as Miss Pettigrew.

  16. LIKE ALL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS, Her desire was to “save the world” or, at least, a few children.

  17. THEN ONE DAY…. Miss Pettigrew journeyed to the land of OZ where she met a handsome prince at a “Renaissance Festival.” The prince was in disguise to protect his anonymity. After all, it was 2005.

  18. Handsome Prince aka Professor Handsome prince, disguised as a university professor, gave a presentation at the festival for a group of educators. • Problem-Solving Miss Pettigrew listened intently. She was mesmerized! • Problem-Solving Response to Intervention Response to Intervention Response oIntervenion

  19. WHAT A UNIQUE IDEA, DOC! Collect and analyze data to determine instructional efficacy and make decisions. Implement interventions for students in general education. Help for those without a suffix.

  20. Miss Pettigrew lives for a day. On board “the little engine that could,” she returned to her beloved homeland. The long trip gave Miss Pettigrew much time to ruminate on the vicissitudes.

  21. I THINK WE CAN!!!!! Miss Pettigrew shared with her colleagues the Professor’s words of wisdom. Her colleagues enthusiastically responded, “Yes, we can!”

  22. OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD Miss Pettigrew’s colleague, Susan Psychologist, asked if she, too, could visit the land of OZ.

  23. OVER THE RAINBOW She heard the professor’s message, and bought it “hook, line, and sinker.” Problem Solving Response to Intervention
