Transfer of learning technology innovations developed in European and other projects which were originally developed for and with learners to vocational education and training professionals (VETPROS) across Europe Project aims • A reciprocal arrangement: VETPROS in receipt of training/support are encouraged to provide ideas on how they have implemented technologies in their learning for use by others, thus forming a continuous cycle of exchange and transfer across Europe. 4 Vocational Theme Working Groups

The four thematic areas provide resources which are developed by experts in their respective fields. • They are open for participation by VETPROs. • Live events, based on each theme, are presented across Europe. • Results are published through the website as downloadable content and are accessable on the iEducate Virtual Training Island in Second Life Thematic Areas

How archives and museums can best exploit new technologies and Web 2.0 in order to reach a new and broader public. • How archives and museums can produce digital exhibitions in an affordable way. • The Culture and Heritage module shows ways for even small organisations to create their own digital exhibitions. Creating e-Learning materials that help students to get to know the technical usage of media tools (how to use microphones, sound/video recorders, video/sound editing software, how to use web2.0 tools) and media skills: oral practices, radio skills, master strokes.  • Publications on how to set up an internet radio station with links to tools that VETPROs can use to develop their own resources. Media, Language and Communication • Radio programmes connected to the iEducate project that discusses new innovations in vocational educational, such as e-learning, digital exhibitions, Second Life, podcasts, net radio and various web2.0 applications. All available on the iEducate website.

  7. ICT for people with disabilities means both the technologies available and how standard technologies can be adapted for people with disabilities • Future 21 Century Foundation, through its Regional Cisco Academy, has provided various ICT courses for hundreds of people with different disabilities. • The combination of advanced technologies for e-Learning and the experience of teaching people with disabilities will support other VETPROs to make their courses available for people with disabilities. Self-employment and Entrepreneurship • Investigating ways in which new technologies can be brought into the curriculum that will aid in the teaching of Self-employment and Entrepreneurship • Identifying a range of technologies and trends that are changing the way businesses work. • Presenting a variety of new technologies that could be used to teach enterprise and the skills required to become an entrepreneur.

Approaches to e-Learning and Developing a Pedagogically sound • e-Learning Course • The course will be a UK Level 3 accredited course • Suitable both for those with little or no knowledge in developing e-learning or those wishing to formalise their existing knowledge and gain an accreditation in the subject of e-learning. • Particularly suitable for the following groups: • Trainers or vocational teachers who wish to gain skills and knowledge in developing e-learning to support their teaching practice • IT developers who wish to understand pedagogical principles and effective ways of embedding learning into e-learning. • People with a responsibility for overseeing the development of e-Learning within their organisation but have little prior knowledge of e-Learning development. • Taught through a blended learning approach which will consist of e-Learning, self study, online tutorials and online peer to peer learning. • For further information please contact pete@ieducate.eu.
