WAEA Seat/IFE Integration Workshop • ARINC 628 Part 2 Review and Recommendations • Reviewed WAEA presentation from Seat Integration Educational Breakout Session, 2000 WAEA Annual Session (Ref. www.waea.org/workinggroups) • Reviewed ARINC 628 Parts 2 and 5. • Defined recommend additions to documents. • Drafted closing statement. Need to overhaul general specification and Supplement 1 • Consider classifications of seat envelopes for first, business, and coach class seats that allow for common IFE installations

WAEA Seat/IFE Integration Workshop • ARINC 628 Part 2 Review and Recommendations • Study concept of modular LRU designs limited to 2-3 sizes and apply concept to new generation IFE • Concentrate on standardization of “invisible parts” - SEB’s, under-seat LRU’s, etc • Provisions for cooling - ref. ARINC 628 part 7 • Standardize Seat LRU mounting patterns • Consider impact of Seat LRU orientation • Request that OEM’s take leadership role in obtaining and defining general seat LRU envelope sizes

  5. WAEA Seat/IFE Integration Workshop • ARINC 628 Part 5 Review and Recommendations • Request that Airlines, their seat suppliers, and industry review Part 5 and provide feedback before 11/15/00 to Earl Nicks (ARINC) and Sheryl Bryant (Boeing) to allow group circulation to support the next CWG meeting in January 2001 • Consider a separate CEI meeting and chair to oversee IFE/SEAT activities in conjunction with the general CEI subcommittee meetings.
