  3. Terminology • Cookies: A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser. Its purpose is to remember information about you, similar to a preference file created by a software application Web 2.0 • First Party Cookies: First-party cookies are created by the Web site you are visiting and are necessary to keep track of your personal preferences and the current session. • Third Party Cookies: Third-party cookies are created by a Web site other than the one you are currently visiting; for example, by a third-party advertiser on that site.

Exploring Google • When WVU’s MIX email system linked with Gmail … • 5gb for e-mail messages, and 5gb for docs on Google Drive • Your Gmail account on MIX was (is) completely separate from your other Gmail accounts • You retain ownership of your documents on your MIX Gmail account • When you activate Gmail, your MIX e-mail address stays the same and will be 'username@mix.wvu.edu' as before • …and you got access to all of the Google products http://mixinfo.wvu.edu/gmail-faqs
