  3. 1. Traditions bring a family together, causing the members to know one another better.

  4. 2. Traditions create positive memories which can provide encouragement and stability. “By the rivers of Babylon – there we sat down and there we wept when we remembered Zion” (Psalms 137:1 NRSV).

  5. 3. Traditions are cherished and passed along to future generations “Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don't remember growing older, when did they? Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset, quickly fly the 'years. One season following another, laden with happiness and tears. —SUNRISE, SUNSET”
