  4. Attaching Amazon AWS Storage to StoneFly SCVM™ 1. Introduction Cloud Backup and replication has become a necessity to protect against local disasters and precious data loss by copying your application, files, servers or virtual machines to a remote location in the cloud. With a cloud backup solution in place you can isolate your data from local device failure, natural disasters or malware attack and ensure you can quickly restore your system following an outage. StoneFly Cloud Connect for backup and replication to Amazon AWS offers a turnkey, cost- effective solution for enterprises to connect their on premise backup and replication archives to the AWS cloud for effortless protection of all data and devices. 2. Scope of the document This document demonstrates attaching an AWS S3 Storage resources (using Amazon web services account) to the StoneFly Storage Concentrator Virtual Machine™ (SCVM™). It details the steps for connecting AWS S3 storage resources (or Compatible S3 Storage Resources) to the SCVM™ then creating NAS volumes from those resources and assigning it for user’s access. Amazon AWS Configuration This section describes the configuration steps required in your AWS account to connect AWS storage resources to the SCVM™. 1.Login in to your AWS account using your credentials or create a new account if you don’t already have one 2.Once logged in, Select Security, Identity & Compliance and click on the IAM ENG-114 V 1.2 Copyright StoneFly, Inc. 2022 Page 5

  8. Attaching Amazon AWS Storage to StoneFly SCVM™ 4. Attaching AWS S3 Storage to the SCVM In this section, the steps required in the SCVM™ to attach your AWS S3 storage resources are described. This also include the steps to create and assign NAS volumes for user access. AWS Bucket View before creating AWS S3 resource in SCVM 1.Login to your SCVM and navigate to Resources > Create Object Storage then select Amazon AWS S3 Storage from the drop menu ENG-114 V 1.2 Copyright StoneFly, Inc. 2022 Page 8

  9. Attaching Amazon AWS Storage to StoneFly SCVM™ 2.Enter the required information; 2.1. Input the copied keys from AWS IAM user (i.e. access and secret key) 2.2. Specify the Bucket Name 2.3. Enter the resource size/storage size to add as a block storage 2.4. Hit Submit Note: AWS S3 Bucket name can be any name for reference but must be a globally unique name. 3.Confirm the changes by clicking OK on the pop-up window; ENG-114 V 1.2 Copyright StoneFly, Inc. 2022 Page 9

Attaching Amazon AWS Storage to StoneFly SCVM™ 8.Navigate to NAS > Segments > Segment Create 9.Enter NAS Segment name and click Create Direct tab 10.Check Select Resource radio button against the recently created object storage (AWS S3) 11.Add the Amount To Use from the respective object storage 12. Hit submit to create a NAS segment 13.Confirm the changes by clicking OK on the pop-up window ENG-114 V 1.2 Copyright StoneFly, Inc. 2022 Page 13

Attaching Amazon AWS Storage to StoneFly SCVM™ 14.Navigate to NAS > Volumes > Create New Volume and click on allocate 15.Enter NAS Volume Name and check the CIFS check box for the volume to be used for windows. 16.Select NAS segment (AWS S3 storage)from the SC drop down menu 17.Click submit to create the volume 18.Click on the Summary tab to check the Operational state of the NAS volume.
