  2. Both Teachers and Students Benefit • Teachers • Two heads are better than one • Teachers collaborate to share their expertise and skills • More instructional time on learning because teachers can divide whole class into smaller parts • Learning from each other never ends: content expert • and a strategy expert • Students • Instructional time is sustained because students are not leaving the classroom for “special help” • Support is totally geared toward the class/subject matter content with the entire class • Students benefit from the teaching style of two teachers • Co-teachers serve as role models to students by demonstrating healthy adult interaction

  4. Computer Access • Online Textbook • Teacher pages

  5. HOW will grades be determined? • Assignments will vary in nature and not all assignments be graded – some are formative. Per the LPS District guidelines, no extra credit assignments will be offered. • The student’s grade will be determined using a weighted percent system with three categories. 1) Assessments – 60%, • 2) Labs, Activities and Classwork – 30% • 3) Homework – 10%. • Students will earn points towards each category based upon the value of each assignment.

  6. HOW will grades be determined? The “Points Earned Ratio” is multiplied by the “Category Percent” for each category, then all three are added to get the Marking Period grade as in the example above. STUDENTS are responsible for EARNING the grade they want! Parents and students will be able to keep track of their progress continuouslyon the Genesis portal.
