  2. Know your cavity! • Ventral cavity-this is made up of the anterior part of the body and is comprised of the thoracic and abdominopelvic areas. • Dorsal cavity-this spans from cranial cavity down to spinal cavity all the way to pelvic cavity

  3. Details, details • Thoracic- this means chest, thoracic can include lungs and heart, ribs skin and muscles of the chest • Pleural- this is the area that surrounds the lungs

  4. Details details • Pelvic cavity-this is the area surrounded by the pelvic bones. It will include reproductive organs, urinary bladder and rectum • Abdominal cavity- this is your tummy! It is located between the thoracic and pelvic cavities. It holds your stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, intestines, spleen

It contains the heart, esophagus, trachea, lymph nodes and thymus (if they are a child it is larger organ that helps with the immune system, it begins to disintegrate after puberty and the older the adult becomes, the smaller the gland
