  1. Millstone Hill ISR, June 14-18, 2004

  2. Ti, June 14-18, 2004

  3. Ti and wind pattern, March 29 - April 3, 2004 Zonal wind, m/s Ti, K Meridional wind, m/s

  4. Ti on March 30, 2004 Variations in Ti on March 30, 2004 reach ~100-200 K Millstone Hill Ti empirical model does not reveal large variations for this level of solar activity and season

  5. LTCS 2005 suggestions • Two 4-5 day campaigns close to the periods of LTCS 2004 campaigns (June, November) • Objectives: • To establish state of the lower thermospheric parameters under conditions of minimal disturbances (low solar flux, low geomagnetic activity) • To study day-to-day variability in winds and temperature at MLT altitudes • To examine possible dependence of tidal signatures on solar flux • When possible, include E-region coverage in other World Day campaigns

  6. Long-duration MLT observation campaign • Objective 1: to study atmospheric waves and variability in the MLT from small scale to global scale • Objective 2: to study day-to-day variability at F-region altitudes • Data: • E-region: Vn, Un, Ti, Ne • F-region: Ne, Te, Ti, electric field, merid. wind • Suggested campaign period: August 1-30, 2005 • Cooperation with satellites (TIMED) and world-wide ground-based observations is expected for global coverage of data.
