  3. What is SIP? The Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) is a not-for-profit member based association representing the interest of Internet professionals. SIP Profile

History Before SIP • Mid 1990’s: TIUG: Toronto Internet User Group. • Late 1990’s: Internet morphed into Mosaic from text based Unix platform. • SIP was established in March 1997 with a purpose too develop standards for the Internet Professionals. Why: How the employer will assess if the person has the training and how the professionals will find out about emerging professions. SIP Profile
